Hello everyone! My name is Queen Carrasco. I’m a freshman at CCNY, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Sociology and Art History. A New York native, I am the daughter of immigrants. I come from a Caribbean and Latin American background. I have one younger brother and so, I take on a lot of responsibility in my home (probably like many others here). As mentioned in class, one of the issues I have with writing is making sure that it is stimulating and easy to follow. After undergrad, I want to attend graduate school; recently, I have been entertaining the idea of attaining a Ph.D. in Computational Social Science. Outside of academics, I enjoy listening to music and podcasts. I mostly listen to podcasts relating to the news, such as PBS and The New York Times. Besides listening to forms of media, I like reading, knitting, drawing, and teaching myself something new. I may hyper-fixate on something for 2-3 weeks before focusing on it less and less or dropping it altogether. I hope we can all have a good semester working together!
